A week-long summer camp for families of all ages and sizes

QUALITY TIME SPENT WITH
FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Welcome to Friends & Family Camp, a week-long summer camp for families. We are dedicated to providing an unforgettable experience for campers of all ages. Our camp offers a variety of activities and a program designed to promote personal growth, foster new friendships and create lifelong memories. At Friends & Family Camp, you are given the opportunity to connect with your family and with nature.

Who we are

Friends & Family Camp, originally founded in 1968 as Diocesan Family Camp (DFC) and renamed in 2023. We pride ourselves on being an open and welcoming community. We provide a week long sleep away camp where both parents and children are the camper.

Since our founding, our camp aims to provide families a memorable experience exclusively at Camp Kinkora in St-Adolphe-d'Howard, Quebec. Camp Kinkora is a certified ACQ member. They provide our camp with lifeguards, an on-site medic, a full kitchen staff serving 3 hot meals a day, and maintenance staff. Our campers just have to show up and enjoy (...now that's a REAL vacation!).

Friends & Family Camp, an affiliated member of the Discovery Camping Association (DCA), with three sister camps for youth and teens: Daylight Camp, Youth in Action, and Visions Camp. All camps are run by 100% dedicated volunteers.

Our Programs

We offer a well-rounded themed program emphasizing values like kindness and respect, focusing on character building. We truly have something for everyone to enjoy!

Morning Program

Early risers can enjoy a moment of relaxation before our day begins with yoga or a polar bear swim. After breakfast we begin with Morning Family Program, where an activity is planned for your family unit to discuss and reconnect. We continue with lively music where campers get to sing their favorite current songs (hello Golden!) and learn the new theme song created specifically for our week. New musicians are welcome. Campers then move on to a workshop of their choosing: Tiny Tots (for the tiny campers), Arts and Crafts, or swimming.

Afternoon Program

After lunch, campers can enjoy the open waterfront for swimming and relaxing on the beach. The site has a wide variety of boating options for campers who would like to go out on the water (paddle boat, row boat, canoe, kayaks, and paddle boards). Other activities include sports (soccer, baseball, ultimate frizbee, rugby, and many others), hikes and crafts. Campers look forward to our annual fishing derby and swim across the lake, as well as our organized games like Capture the Flag.

Evening Program

After dinner campers are led in a large group activity such as a talent show, a dance and, of course, bonfires. Program ends early for the smaller campers as Teen Program then begins for 13-17 year old campers. Our older teen campers then become babysitters as the adults get to gather for Adult Social for the always entertaining Irish Night, Game Night and our own lively Bonfire guided by our musicians.
